Our work in three pillars
Toolkits and resources
We develop tools and resources to help VCs integrate ESG in the entire life cycle of their investment approaches.
In partnership with two key DFIs — BII and FMO — we developed an Emerging Markets ESG Universe of Issues Framework to serve as an ESG due diligence tool for VC fund managers operating in lower- and middle-income countries.
Additional tools — from legal clauses and policy templates to ‘materiality napkins’ — are in the making.
ESG Training
We have already trained 30+ VCs across Africa, Latin America, and Asia on the best practices of ESG integration since early 2024. Building on the Leading in ESG training we developed with key European LPs, this training is tailored to the needs of Emerging Markets contexts.
Our partnership with GIZ and the CATAL1.5°T Initiative already brought this training to Senegal and Mexico in 2024; in 2025, we are rolling it out further to other countries in Latin America and West Africa and will also be in India (in partnership with IIM Udaipur and BTGV). Stay tuned.
Emerging Markets Community
We organize quarterly online community gatherings, in-person ecosystem events, and speaker spotlights. All our resources are — free of charge — on our community Notion for you to access and use.
